A fire sign known for its adventurous spirit, philosophical nature and enthusiasm, Sagittarius brings creative inspiration and a sense of joy this season.
Perhaps this energy is what supports us with some upliftment as we descend to the shortest day and the darkness that is present at this time of year. The festive lights of the Christmas season helping to mirror the light within us.
Sagittarius season brings with it an optimistic and expansive energy. Reminding us to stay open, be curious and focus on what we are creating into being. Showing us how to wield the energy of fire to inspire and activate the highest possibilities we have for our future and for the world.
Keys Transits of the December 2025 Astrology Forecast
December 4th: Full Moon in Gemini at 3:13pm at 13°
Full moons bring the energy of release and fullness, they’re the peak of our lunar cycle. The energy of Gemini shows us the concept of duality that is mirrored throughout nature and our life here on this planet. Dark and Light, Day and Night, Masculine and Feminine, Sun and Moon. Duality shows us the path to unity. Being mindful of rigidity and the human tendency to become narrowly focused, instead of seeing the bigger picture that encompasses many perspectives and possibilities and potential outcomes.
Ruled by Mercury, the Messenger, communication is enhanced in the sign of Gemini, guiding us to a deeper awareness of how we communicate and express ourselves. Inviting curiosity into our interactions and awareness of how we can step more fully into authentic expression. The New Moon in Sagittarius brings themes around independence, growth, higher learning, truth, our beliefs, liberation and freedom in all its forms.
Sagittarius’s symbol of the archer, inspires us to focus on what we are moving towards. Seen as the centaur, half man/woman, half horse, creating a bridge between our human and animal nature, and between earth and spirit. This sign invites two questions:
Where are we wanting to shift our focus to? What is the higher purpose or vision that we are calling in?
This New Moon is the last of this Calendar year. You may feel called to take space to reflect and honor all that has come into fruition in 2025, and what you may be seeding at this time. Be sure to celebrate all of the wins whether large or small and to acknowledge the strength of the spirit that guides your path. Two more questions to ask yourself:
What have you learned this year? How can you integrate what has come before to create new foundations moving forward?
It’s important to honour our inner rhythms as we approach the solstice and sink deeper into the yin season that teaches us the importance of moving slowly, pausing and listening. Returning to what brings us joy, lights us up and inspires us and inviting that to be our guide forward.
December 21st: SOLSTICE. Sun enters Capricorn at 7:03am
The wheel of the year turns to bring us to the Solstice. Solstice translates to Sun stands still. A time where the Sun reaches its lowest point in the sky at the Winter Solstice and for 3 days appears to stay in the same place in the sky before it very slowly starts to make its ascent back to its highest point 6 months later at Summer Solstice.
The Solstice begins as the Sun moves into the sign of Capricorn, and occurs at 0 degrees. 0 degrees of a sign symbolizes an initiation point, bringing with it the energy of a new beginning and new cycle.
Capricorn, an earth sign, brings us into our connection with our roots and the archetype of the wise elder. Supporting us into balance and connection with our own inner authority and sovereignty to discern what is in alignment for us individually and collectively. This sign invites us to create new and embodied structures from a grounded and deeply rooted place that will support us to expand and radiate at our fullest expression and continue to seed this new way of being and co-creation into the future.
Winter brings us the opportunity to slow down, to pause, to savour the stillness and silence. A time to rest and replenish, honouring the truths that from darkness the light returns, from death we experience rebirth and from the stillness comes the unfurling of new life.
A good question to ask is: How can we allow this energy to support us? Honoring this time of reflection, going within and listening, knowing that from this yin state and place of the sacred dark, all life begins.
December 24th: Venus enters Capricorn
As Venus moves into Capricorn, our feminine nature and the planet that connects to love, relationships, pleasure and prosperity invites us to connect with the Grandmothers and Wisdom Keepers.
This transit is beautifully aligned with this season of Christmas as many of us will be spending time with our families. Whether this is a challenging or symbiotic time of connection, it offers a reminder that we can connect in with the deeper support and strength that is here for us from those seen and unseen.
Venus is moving through her Underworld phase where she is no longer visible in the sky, calling us to remember our own illuminating light within. This really is a time of traversing the sacred dark so that we can rise with deeper presence in the cycles to come.
While, Capricorn calls us inward, to root down and ground into the earth. Reclaiming our inner strength and embodied wisdom within. This is a great time for creating the containers that will hold and support us to unfurl, expand and deepen in new ways individually and collectively in the coming season and into the next Venus cycle.
This time of over the holy days leading us into January has the potential to be a deep and profound time. This is a powerful time to reflect on the insights and growth of this year. By allowing this space in the sacred dark, by sitting with all that we have been through over this past year, and by celebrating all that we have moved through, all the ways we have grown, and all that we have accomplished both in our inner and outer worlds.
