If you’re tired of the same o’l dinner parties or brewery nights, and want to throw together a wellness birthday that’s also a memorable bonding experience, this one’s for you. For those of us who believe in celebrating our birthdays (birthday month people) and want to plan an unforgettable gathering, read on for the most unique (and very memorable) birthday party ideas we’ve tried and hosted here at Head + Heart.

Long Table Psychic Dinner Party

First up: A long table dinner party with 1:1 psychic reading. You know when you get the same great tip three times in a week? That’s what happened recently with Dana Calli, a psychic intuitive who curates long-table dinner parties with personalized psychic readings in her space in East Vancouver. Expect a delicious dinner, intentional conversation, and 1:1 readings for each and every guest – an experience that’s equal parts magical and meaningful.

Gua Sha Spa Birthday

One of the most memorable birthday parties we’ve been to was a Gua Sha Spa Birthday Afternoon. There are a couple of ways to do this. You could make some chaga tea, get some bliss balls and antioxidant rich snacks, and have someone like Gretchen from Wildflower Beauty Bar  lead a Gua Sha Tutorial for a group of your nearest and dearest in your home. She’ll bring a host of luxe products from brands like Laurel, Gua Sha boards for each guest (could double as adult goodie bags), and lead a full DIY Gua Sha facial routine – including mini Face Readings, the best techniques and ideal pressure to use. Another version of this idea could include bringing in a holistic nutritionist like Alyssa from Be Nourished to make green juice and lead an inspiring age-appropriate nutrition talk, or taking this party to a sauna/cold plunge spot like Bugu or Tality.

Gene Keys Birthday Party

Gene Keys Birthday Party. This may not yet be a thing, but it should be. For an afternoon or evening with a small group, you could hire a Gene Keys expert like Kryste Mishra to come to your home to teach about the Gene Keys, create a custom Gene Keys chart for each guest, and then lead mini readings for each of you. Pair with great food (and possibly wine!) and you’ve got an inspiring and fun birthday party!

Breathwork & Visioning Birthday Celebration

For a birthday that feels both grounding and expansive, a private breathwork & visioning session is a game-changer.  And depending how long an experience you’re after, this could happen in your home, at a studio, or even at a sauna/cold plunge venue.  Recently I led a breathwork visioning session to a group of women, all themed around stepping into future self realities, and it was super bonding. If you’re looking for a breathwork party, you know who to call! I love birthdays.

Sauna & Cold Dip Birthday

And last but definitely not least- for nature lovers and sauna/ cold plunge enthusiasts, gather a group of friends and book into gorgeous spot like Sisu Swim Sauna in Deep Cove or The Wellness Den in Langley. Sisu will pick you up in idyllic Deep Cove for a couple of hours on their floating sauna (yes, floating!), while The Wellness Den has that idyllic farm-life setting. Both could be paired with a breathwork or meditation session for full-body clarity and deep relaxation, and some great snacks and kombucha.

As you consider the above options, note that it’s actually quite easy to organize private wellness events at venues like Conscious Lab, Kou, or your local yoga studio. And if that’s too much, you can always just take your party to a great experiences- like a meta dance party at TurF studio, a reformer or mat pilates class at the new ALL studio in Railtown, or a sound bath with someone like Tianne Allen or Farhad Khan. So many options- let us know what you decide!
