Tired of solo meditations at home? Want that transmission feeling you get when you’re meditating in a group? We feel ya. Meditating in a group is just better. With social distancing still in place these days, the next best thing is joining a livestream meditation.
Here is a calendar of weekly online satsangs (live meditations) to carry you through this week, and bring you into the New Year to your most blissful transcendental state. Or at least a little better than you felt before.

MONDAYS @ 7:15pm
Join Spirit Rock’s Jack Kornfield + friends, including teachers like Kaira Jewel Lingo and Vinny Ferraro for a by-donation livestream meditation and meditation. This Monday Night group has been meeting in person for over 35 years, inviting people to hear the teachings of the Buddha, and practice insight meditation together as a community. The program includes a 30-40 min guided livestream meditation, a short break, and a dharma talk. By donation. Sliding scale.
TUESDAYS @ 10am
Join mindfulness leader, ceremonialist and spirit coach, Mara Branscombe for a livesmeditation, dharma talk + yoga movement practice every Tuesday at 10-11:15am. Every session includes a guided meditation, breath-work, an all-levels Vinyasa Flow class, and a Dharma talk with tips to living mindfully through these uncertain times. By donation and all are welcome. Suggested: $15.

Join Monica Jordan of Embrace Mindfulness for a free weekly livestream meditation. Pre-Covid, this community has been gathering in person at Unity in SF for years. Now, they offer weekly livestreams that touch on relevant topics like stress and anxiety to support people globally, all in with the belief that spiritual diversity strengthens the unity of all communities. FREE.
WEDNESDAYS @ 4:30pm
Join one of our fav meditation teachers Tara Brach for a weekly livestream meditation and talk. Tara Brach’s teachings blend Western psychology and Eastern spiritual practices, mindful attention to our inner life, and a full, compassionate engagement with our world. She’s a very accessible and relatable teacher. The class includes 1/2 hour of guided meditation followed by a 50-minute teaching talk. Tara also offers post-talk Mindful Dialogue groups to support community, including a BIPOC group for people of colour only.
WEDNESDAYS @ 6pm
Join psychologist + best-selling author Dr. Rick Hanson Wednesdays at 6pm for a FREE livestream meditation, talk and discussion. Dr. Rick Hanson is best known for his work and research into the neuroscience of (lasting) happiness, with books like Buddha’s Brain and Hardwiring Happiness. This is a sweet opportunity to meditate live with a teacher many of us have come to love and respect. FREE.
THURSDAYS at 4pm
Join Krishna Das for a FREE online Kirtan and Satsang Thursdays at 4pm. Krishna Das is best known for his signature style, fusing traditional kirtan of the east with western harmonic and rhythmic sensibilities. His Thursday livestream offerings offer musical meditation with a dharma talk. All are welcome.
FRIDAYS @ 7:30pm
Join Vinny Ferraro Fridays 7:30pm for a free FREE satsang. Vinny has been an insight meditation (vipassanā) teacher since the mid 90s. He is a co-Founder of the Dharma Punx and he’s been the Guiding Teacher of a Sangha in San Francisco for 15 years. His teachings are based on mindfulness, compassion and service.

Join various teachers of Sahaja Yoga Meditation for one of their daily livestream meditations (weekdays at 6:30pm; weekends at 11am). This meditation style is based on the Self-Realization experience – the awakening of an Inner Energy which resides in a potential state at the base of the spine of every human being. Sahaja Yoga Meditation was founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Shrivastava (1923-2011), a Nobel Peace Prize nominee who dedicated her life to selflessly and relentlessly sharing this method of meditation with hundreds of thousands of people in over 100 countries.

Every Saturday morning from 8:10-9:10am, you can receive meditation instruction from one of the stellar teachers at SF’s renowned Green Gulch. Since Covid, they’ve begun offering meditations, dharma talks, and meditation instruction online, almost every day. Meditations happen M-F, Dharma talks are Wednesday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning.

Join Annalise Sullivan of Spirited Roots for a unique style of meditation will draw you into yourself to facilitate a journey toward your subconscious mind. Through deep relaxation, specific cues, and collective energy we will begin to gently draw ourselves into connection with the realm of open space and possibility that exists just beyond the standard functions of our minds. Each gathering includes at least two breathing techniques you can use to anchor into your body. Cost: $5

Join Sound Meditation Presents for a weekly livestream sound bath, which offers the best quality sound meditations we’ve come across. Each sound meditation is designed to help you journey into a state of deeper relaxation and inner peace. Sound is a healing force.
