About

Lisa Davicioni, R.Ac., TCMP

Lisa Davicioni has been practising Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture for more than 25 years.

As an acupuncturist and herbalist, Lisa’s approach is deeply emotionally focused. She sees the physical and emotional aspects of health as inseparable, and much of her work is about helping people reconnect with themselves beneath the noise of stress, fear, expectation, and the many ways we learn to hold ourselves together.

For many years Lisa’s focus was on women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, and the transitions of the reproductive years. She ran a women’s health clinic, working with women through complex and often deeply vulnerable experiences, including fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, hormonal changes, perimenopause, menopause, and the emotional and physical changes that accompany these stages of life. Her approach is not to separate the emotional experience from the physical one, but to understand how the two continually influence one another.

At the heart of Lisa’s practice is the creation of a safe container. She believes that when we feel safe enough to stop fighting what is happening inside us, something can begin to shift.

So much of our energy can be spent resisting—trying to control our bodies, our emotions, our circumstances, or the uncertainty of what comes next. But fighting is exhausting, and ultimately, fighting what is cannot change what is. This does not mean giving up or becoming passive. Rather, letting go creates the possibility of responding differently.

In the space of treatment, Lisa invites people to slow down enough to notice what is happening within them. Sometimes this is subtle: a breath that becomes deeper, a jaw that softens, tears that finally come, or a body that no longer feels quite so braced against the world. Sometimes it is simply the experience of being able to sit with what is present without immediately needing to fix it.

Through acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, conversation, and a deep respect for each person’s individual experience, Lisa works to support this process of softening and letting go. She is less interested in forcing change than in creating the conditions that allow change to happen naturally.

There is something profound that can happen when we stop using all of our energy to hold ourselves together. In letting go, even for a moment, we can touch something that feels like liberation. Paradoxically, this sense of freedom often emerges not when life is easy, but in the midst of challenge and chaos.

Lisa’s work is informed by more than two decades of clinical experience, but also by a deep curiosity about the human experience. She brings both clinical knowledge and compassion to her work, meeting people where they are rather than where they think they should be.

Her practice, Slow Medicine, reflects this philosophy. In a world that often asks us to move faster, do more, optimize everything, and find immediate solutions, Lisa believes there is value in slowing down. Sometimes healing begins when we have the opportunity to pause, listen, and allow ourselves to be exactly where we are.

Lisa works collaboratively with her patients, offering education and perspective alongside treatment. She believes that understanding our bodies can be empowering, particularly during times when the body feels unfamiliar, unpredictable, or outside of our control. Her goal is not simply to provide treatment, but to help people develop a deeper relationship with themselves and their own capacity for healing.

Whether someone is navigating a physical health concern, a major life transition, fertility or reproductive health, or simply feels that something inside them needs attention, Lisa offers a space to slow down, feel, and reconnect.

After more than 25 years in practice, she continues to be humbled by the complexity of the human body and the resilience of the people she works with. Her greatest privilege is being able to accompany people through periods of uncertainty and change—and to witness what becomes possible when they no longer have to fight so hard to get through them.
