Weekly Meditation Class with Tara Brach

Meditation class meets weekly with Tara ~

Compassion for All Beings: Loving Life with a Plant-Based Diet
with: Tara Brach, Mark Tercek, Brenda Sanders and Jonathan Foust

This class includes 1/2 hour of Vipassana meditation instruction and guided meditation followed by an hour-long teaching talk. This is a large gathering of approximately 250 to 300. Beginners through advanced students are all welcome. There is no registration, but dana (donation) of about $10-15 is suggested to help us cover our expenses, and is gratefully received.

Introduction to Meditation class: 1st Wednesday each month – 6:30 to 7:30pm.
Class orientation: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 7pm before class.
Discussion Group: Every Wednesday after class: 9:10-9:45pm
American Sign Language interpreting: Once/month upon request (please check IMCW calendar class page to confirm)
Mindful Movement – before class: 6:30-7:20pm on each Wednesday

At the beginning of each class we ask who needs a ride and match them with a ride back to a Metro stop (or sometimes home, if the driving class member is able).

From: Metrobus T2 (12 min. trip) from Friendship Heights Metro Bus Bay J at 6:45 or 7:15 p.m. to River Rd. & Whittier stop.
To: Metrobus T2 (10 min. trip) from River Rd. & Winston stop at 9:05, 9:35 or 10:35 p.m.

From: Ride On bus 29 (16 min. trip) from Bethesda Metro Bus Bay E at 6:40 or 7:10 pm to Whittier & Highboro Dr. stop.

There are approximately 100 parking slots in the RRUUC parking areas and overflow may park legally on the street. Please honor the marked accessible parking spaces, please do not park in reserved parking spaces, do not park in wooded areas outside of defined spaces, do not park in designated fire lanes, and do not block neighbor’s driveways (leave 5 feet on each side).
