“When you start singing from your heart, it changes the phrases.” —Jennifer Lopez

As humans, we are relational beings. From our earliest days, our survival depends on care from and our connection with others. Arising from multiple factors, our relationships offer sustenance and sorrow, stress and solace, joy, and vulnerability, and can lead to freedom and love. In this retreat with Lynn Koerbel & Florence Meleo-Meyer, the focus will be on the cultivation of awareness, presence, mental stability, and calmness as resources and capacities to meet the natural conflicts, confusions and stresses of relating.

This relational retreat with Lynn Koerbel & Florence Meleo-Meyer supports becoming more aware and steady: alone and in your interactions with others, through the practice of Insight Dialogue. Insight Dialogue, a relational meditation practice, founded by Gregory Kramer, PhD, brings together meditation, wisdom teachings, and relationship.

In this 5-day retreat with Lynn Koerbel & Florence Meleo-Meyer, meditation is cultivated seamlessly with silence and dialogue as we reflect on universal themes and draw from innate and collective wisdom. Co-meditation rests with the intention to wake up together, cultivate generosity, and share a vitality of presence while engaged with one another.

Insight Dialogue is a whole life practice that extends the benefits of mutual practice long after the retreat is over. This retreat offers a synergy of guidance, silence, dialogue practice and community, in which we:

  • Cultivate conditions to increase attentional capacity
  • Receive support to develop and strengthen a more balanced sense of self in relationship
  • Encourage and deepen attitudes of acceptance, patience, and compassion
  • Identify, discuss, and apply, through direct experience, subtle comprehension of human relational suffering and the potential to shift toward release and relief

This retreat with Lynn Koerbel & Florence Meleo-Meyer fulfills part one of the Professional Education elective, Relational Mindfulness with the Brown Mindfulness Center. Part two is fulfilled with attendance at two online tutorials for MBSR teachers.
