Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the profound crisis of disconnection we are witnessing in the modern world. It shows up as a pervasive separation from nature, from Mother Earth, and ultimately, from a sense of deeper meaning in our everyday lives.

We tend to look at our personal struggles, our anxieties, or our persistent feelings of not belonging as entirely our own. But there is a perhaps revolutionary truth that we eventually must meet: when we do not know where we come from, we cannot truly be grounded in where we are going. If you have tried a number of spiritual practices and still feel an underlying sense of disconnection, you are not failing. You may be in the throws of being called to look backward into your lineage. True embodied empowerment often begins when we turn around and face our own people.

When colonization, oppression, or sudden displacement occurs, our vital relationship with the land is lost, and ancestral rituals, languages, and songs are stripped away. People die in survival mode, and their souls can become stuck in liminal spaces. This is where understanding Soul Loss can be incredibly restorative. In traditional Shamanism, soul loss can also be viewed through a multigenerational lens – as generations later, we may find we’ve inherited emotional fallout, that we’re trying to soothe with tools of our culture that are actually hurting us: consumerism, land extraction, and corporate greed, for example.

By bridging ancient animist wisdom with somatic practices, we can mend this fragmentation. Western science now validates that multi-generational trauma causes tangible alterations in our DNA and our stress physiology. That chronic, buzzing anxiety you carry might literally be the inherited burden of an unhealed family pattern living in your nervous system. This is exactly why I pair shamanic healing and soul work with somatic therapy – because if we are not working with the physical nervous system to digest and metabolize that heavy energy, any transformation cannot fully integrate.

I recently hosted an experiential workshop called Awakening the Bloodlines, where we mapped out the architecture of this inherited burden and practiced a somatic-animist boundary technique to create space between our own vitality and unhealed family patterns. But deep transformation, skill-building, and nervous system re-patterning do not happen in a single evening. It requires a steady, committed container.

This ancestral healing workshop, which I’ll be offering regularly, serves as the gateway into my signature offering, The Essential Revolution: An Apprenticeship in Conscious Living. This is a year-long community container built as a structured journey of return to your deep, sovereign self.

Over twelve months, we move from surface-dwelling life and dive deeply into five foundational medicines:

Ancestral Healing – Mending the broken thread and healing forward.
Shamanism & Animism – Remembering that everything is alive and interconnected.
Plant Medicine – Aligning with the consciousness of the natural world.
Somatic Relational Living – Digesting heavy energy and moving it through the body.
Community Connection – Walking this path together rather than in isolation.

You do not have to keep carrying the unhealed fragments of the past as a burden. You can choose to carry them as medicine. When you step onto this path, you become the descendant who mends the broken thread and heals forward for the ones yet to come.
